9 Simple, Cozy Indoor Activities for a Tranquil Rainy Day

I do not know about you guys, but I am not one of those types of people who love the rain. Some people hate it and some love it, but I don’t enjoy it. There’s nothing worse than a rainy day. It’s the worst day of the week to go out and do anything.

But then if you’ve got to deal with it, there are ways to make that wet weather work for you. When it’s raining you can enjoy that day while staying cosy at home and doing something you like. Rainy days can be a total bummer if you’re stuck inside, but they don’t have to be. So next time those clouds start looming, keep that umbrella in your closet and try one (or all) of these things:

1. Read a book

Rainy days are the best days to read a book. Rain washes away your stress and makes you cosy. Reading books is an excellent hobby that helps you relax when it’s pouring outside.

It’s raining outside. It’s a cold, wet day. You are in your pyjamas and you can hear the raindrops smacking against the window pane. You are feeling a little blue. It’s days like these when reading a book is an ideal activity to do.

2. Play with your car or dog!

Pets are our best friends. They love us unconditionally, listen to all of our problems, and never let us down. Therefore, sharing time with them is one of the best ways to get rid of boredom on a rainy day. When it starts raining outside, you can play games with your dog or cat at home or take them out for a walk if they are well-trained.

3. Sip your favourite hot drink ( chocolate, cacao, coffee, tea )

What is your favourite hot drink? Coffee? Tea? Cocoa? Hot chocolate? A rainy day is a perfect excuse to get cosy inside, sit down with a warm cup in hand and read a book while sipping on your favourite hot beverage.

4. Light some candles

When it comes to making your home smell good, candles are the most popular way of doing it. Candles are a great way to add a nice aroma to your home and improve your mood.

Then whenever the sky is gloomy and it starts raining outside, just light some candles, play a couple of songs, and make your room look like a cosy place for you to sit back and relax.

5. Write your thoughts down

Rainy days are for inner journeys. The raindrops outside the windowpane mask the noise of life and allow you to think clearly. When a bad mood hits, or you need a break from the daily hustle-bustle, write your thoughts down on paper.

Write freely without thinking about what you’ll say next because this is how good ideas emerge – out of free association. It will be interesting to read through your notes some days after.
